Our clinicians offer assessment and treatment for children, adolescents, families, adults and couples.  We provide a range of therapeutic interventions including:


Family Therapy

Family Therapy helps people in a close relationship help each other. It enables family members, couples and others who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.  See for more information.


CBT, or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy,

CBT is a talking therapy. It has been proved to help treat a wide range of emotional and physical health conditions in adults, young people and children. CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how this affects the way we act. In turn our actions can affect how we think and feel. The therapist and client work together in changing the client’s behaviours, or their thinking patterns, or both of these.


EMDR, or eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing

EMDR focusses on the symptoms associated with a traumatic event or life experience. EMDR uses eye movements and related techniques to unblock the memories associated with the traumatic even so that they can be processed.


Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)

CFT helps us to understand how to work with difficulties and associated feelings in a direct and compassionate way. It is similar to CBT and focusses on reducing shame and self criticism.


Motivational Enhancement Therapy or Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a form of patient centred counselling that focusses on engaging internal motivation in order to change behaviour.


Therapeutic Play approaches

Therapeutic play use play to help children sort out and understand confused feelings and upsetting events. Sometimes children can use play to act out difficult experiences so that they can make sense of them without needing to use words or try to explain things. They may learn to manage feelings and relationships in more helpful ways which they can explore through play.



Mindfulness helps us to learn to be more aware of our bodily sensations and thoughts to enable us to cope better with our emotions and problems.


Cognitive Remediation Therapy (CRT)

CRT is a psychological therapy that aims to improve thinking skills such as concentration, attention, working memory, cognitive flexibility and planning and executive functioning which leads to improved social functioning. There is evidence that it helps in the treatment of schizophrenia, eating disorders, ADHD and severe depression.
